This Privacy Policy applies to personal information collected through our website at lifecreativewordsministry.com and governs our practices in compliance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

• Contact Form: First name, last name, email address, optional phone number, and your message.
• Prayer Requests: Your name (optional) and the content of your prayer request. Public requests are displayed on our Prayer Wall; private requests are seen only by our pastoral team.
• Event RSVPs: Your name, email address, and any notes you include when registering for an event.
• Email Subscriptions: Your email address when you subscribe to our devotional or blog newsletter.

2.2 Information Stored Locally on Your Device

This website uses your browser's localStorage to save:

• Bible reading progress — which days of our 30-day reading plan you have marked as complete.
• Sermon notes — any notes you type into our note-taker tool on the Sermons page.
• Theme preference — your chosen colour theme for the website.

This data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to our servers. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.

2.3 Information Collected Automatically

When you visit our website, standard web technologies may collect basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, referring URL, and pages visited. This occurs through our hosting provider's standard server logs and is used solely for security and diagnostic purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To respond to your contact form enquiries within 2 business days.
• To pray over your prayer requests with our pastoral team.
• To confirm your event registrations and communicate event details.
• To send you devotional or blog emails you have subscribed to. You may unsubscribe at any time.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
• We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.

4. Sensitive Information — Prayer Requests

Prayer requests may contain sensitive personal information about health, relationships, or financial circumstances. We treat all prayer requests with the highest degree of confidentiality:

• Public prayer requests are visible on the Prayer Wall to other website visitors. Only submit a public request if you are comfortable with it being publicly visible.
• Private prayer requests are seen only by our senior pastor and designated prayer team members. They are not displayed publicly and are not shared outside the pastoral team.
• Prayer request data submitted through the website is not currently stored on a server (as this is a static site). Please contact us directly at [email protected] for ongoing prayer support.

5. Third-Party Services

Our website uses the following third-party services that may process limited data:

• Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com) — serves web fonts. Google may log requests. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Cloudflare (cdnjs.cloudflare.com) — delivers Font Awesome icons. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
• Google Maps (contact page) — displays our location. Google may collect usage data. See Google's Privacy Policy above.
• Lorem Picsum (picsum.photos) — currently serving placeholder images. These will be replaced with hosted images before full launch.

6. Data Retention

We retain contact form messages and prayer requests only as long as necessary to respond to you or to fulfil the stated purpose (typically no longer than 12 months). Email subscription records are retained until you unsubscribe. You may request deletion at any time.

7. Your Rights

Under PIPEDA and PIPA, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Withdraw consent for use of your information (with some legal exceptions).
• Request deletion of your information.
• File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

We implement reasonable technical safeguards including HTTPS encryption, Subresource Integrity (SRI) on third-party scripts, and security HTTP headers. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to avoid submitting highly sensitive personal information through web forms.

Our website is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
